Ulrich (Ullie) Weber, a well-known and much-loved resident of Victoria Point, passed away on 10 October 2025 after a short illness.

Born in Germany, Ullie migrated to Australia in 1955 and settled on Link Road in 1959.

He became a familiar figure in the community as a passionate passionfruit farmer, with many local schoolchildren in the 1960s and 1970s helping to pick his fruit during school holidays to earn a bit of pocket money.

After more than 30 years of farming, Ullie retired in the early 1990s.

Still driven by his desire to help, he and his wife Marion volunteered at Redlands Residential Care for eight to nine years, tending the gardens, sharing coffee, and spending time with residents—a role that always brought a smile to his face.

In 2019, Ullie ticked an item off his bucket list by travelling with Marion to Norway to witness the Northern Lights.

Ullie was always keen to be involved in his community.

He joined the Primary School P&C, helped wherever he could, and was a life member of the Redland Sharks Sporting Club.

His willingness to lend a hand and his love for his local area remain central to his legacy.

A celebration of Ullie’s life will be held at the Redland Sharks Sporting Club on Friday, 24 October 2025, commencing at 11 am.

All are welcome.

Written by his daughter, Christine Cassar.
