Fans of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! may not have seen the last of the hit reality franchise, despite its recent axing by Network 10.
Former AFL star and season two winner Brendan Fevola has revealed producers from ITV Studios Australia approached him earlier this year about returning for a proposed all-stars edition of the show.
Speaking on Melbourne radio, Fevola said the concept would have brought together past winners from across the program’s 12-season run. However, he declined the invitation due to his commitments with breakfast radio.
The revelation comes just weeks after confirmation that Network 10 would rest the long-running jungle series in 2027 following a season marked by cost-cutting measures and softer ratings.
Production changes, including a move away from the traditional live broadcast format, were introduced as part of efforts to reduce expenses.
Despite the setback, Fevola suggested ITV remains optimistic about the future of the franchise and believes another broadcaster could step in.
He claimed discussions were underway about the possibility of the show finding a new home on either Seven or Nine, although neither network has publicly confirmed any interest.
ITV Studios Australia chief executive David Mott recently indicated the company remained confident in the format’s appeal and was actively exploring opportunities with other broadcasters.
For now, the jungle campfire may have been extinguished, but television viewers shouldn’t rule out a comeback just yet.
