COMMUNITY organisations and sporting clubs across the Redlands are being encouraged to apply for a new round of local support, with Member for Redlands Rebecca Young MP launching her 2026 Community Sponsorship and Support Program.

The program has been designed to provide structured, transparent and equitable assistance to not-for-profit organisations, sporting clubs, schools and volunteer groups that play a central role in community life across the electorate.

“Every year my office receives many requests — from raffle prizes through to sponsorship of major community events,” Mrs Young said.

“This program is about making sure we support those who support our community, in a way that’s fair, consistent and delivers the greatest benefit for Redlands residents.”

Under the program, support is offered across four tiers to ensure both large-scale initiatives and smaller grassroots projects can access assistance.

Tier 1 Major Sponsorships provide up to $2500 for large clubs, major events or programs with broad community reach, assessed through a six-monthly expression of interest process.

Tier 2 Community Partnerships offer up to $500 for local clubs, schools, P&Cs and community groups delivering programs or events with a clear local impact, with applications assessed monthly.

Tier 3 Micro Support covers smaller requests such as raffle prizes, in-kind donations and minor community assistance, which will be considered throughout the year subject to availability.

A Special Circumstances Reserve has also been established to respond to unexpected hardship, urgent local needs or emerging opportunities that strongly benefit Redlands residents.

Mrs Young said applications would be assessed against clear criteria including community benefit, local impact, equity across the electorate, value for money and opportunities for community engagement.

“Our clubs and community groups do extraordinary work — often powered by volunteers,” she said.

“This program is one small way of backing their efforts and making sure support is shared right across Redlands, from the mainland to the Southern Moreton Bay Islands.”

Community organisations are encouraged to plan and apply early, with sponsorships and donations limited.

Further information and application details are available via Mrs Young’s website.
