REDLANDS VIEW Club member Carolyn Watson has been recognised for nearly two decades of volunteer service, receiving a prestigious Making a Difference Award during National Volunteering Week.
The award, presented as part of National Volunteering Week from May 18-24, acknowledged Ms Watson’s significant contribution to the club, The Smith Family and the wider local community.
Ms Watson has also made a longstanding contribution to the Lions Club of Redland City over many years.
Her citation from VIEW Clubs of Australia National President Lorraine Thomson praised her commitment to the organisation’s guiding principles, including being inclusive and welcoming, supportive and caring, locally focused and nationally active.
The citation highlighted Ms Watson’s 19 years of dedicated service to VIEW Clubs and her leadership within the Redlands branch.
“Congratulations, Carolyn, on 19 years of dedicated service to VIEW Clubs,” the citation stated.
“As a loyal and highly valued member of Redlands VIEW Club, you’ve stepped up to lead in committee positions for 12 of those years, your tireless energy in fundraising has been vital in supporting our Learning for Life Students. Thank you for everything you do.”
The citation also praised her support for fellow members.
“Carolyn, your friends hold you in high esteem with your inclusive and welcoming manner for everyone and your support and care for members when they are unwell,” the citation stated.
The award was presented by long-time member Nerelle Brown.
