VOTING has officially opened for Best of the Redlands giving locals the chance to celebrate the people, businesses and community groups that make the region one of Queensland’s most vibrant and welcoming places to live.

The community‑driven campaign has already attracted dozens of nominations from across Redlands, highlighting everyone from beloved cafés and grassroots sporting clubs to dedicated volunteers, educators and small business owners.

Now, residents are being encouraged to cast their vote and help shine a light on the locals who go above and beyond.

Member for Redlands Rebecca Young MP said the initiative was designed to recognise the everyday people who help shape the character of the region.

“Queensland Day is about more than history, it’s about the people who make our communities what they are today,” Mrs Young said.

“Best of the Redlands has uncovered some incredible stories from right across our community and now it’s time for locals to have their say.”

Member for Capalaba Russell Field MP said the response so far had been overwhelmingly positive with nominations reflecting the generosity and spirit of the region.

“The nominations have highlighted the people and organisations who go above and beyond, often without asking for recognition,” Mr Field said.

“From coaches and volunteers to small businesses and community groups, these are the people who keep the Redlands thriving.”

Member for Oodgeroo Amanda Stoker MP encouraged residents to get behind their favourites.

“Everyone has a favourite café, volunteer, coach or community group that makes life in the Redlands that little bit better,” Mrs Stoker said.

“Voting is a chance to back the people, businesses and community groups that make our part of Queensland such a special place to live.”

Winners will be announced at a Queensland Day celebration on June 6.

Residents can vote at listen2qld.com/best-of-redlands.

Voting closes: Monday, June 1.
