BAYSIDE residents are being called upon to help shape the future of the city’s iconic waterfront as the next stage of community consultation begins.

This initiative is a significant step towards ensuring that the Wynnum, Lota, and Manly foreshore areas are developed in a way that reflects the community’s needs and desires.

Information kiosks will be open until April 9, allowing locals to provide input on the 20-year masterplan for the foreshore.

The masterplan aims to build on previous work along the foreshore and will complement the upcoming upgrade to the playground near the Wynnum wading pool, ensuring that the area remains a vibrant and enjoyable space for families and visitors.

Councillor Alex Givney emphasised the importance of community input.

“Our community knows the Bayside best, and we are excited to begin this next phase of consultation to ensure our foreshore is revitalised and preserved for generations to come,” she said.

“I encourage everyone to have their say and help shape the future of our beautiful Bayside.

“We’ve already received fantastic feedback, and I look forward to working with Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner and our Council team to incorporate these valuable ideas into the final masterplan.

“We want to give everyone a chance to share their vision for the future of the Bayside and we are excited to work together to bring this plan to life.”

The remaining kiosks will be available at the following two locations:
l Manly Markets: 8-10am, Saturday, April 5
l Wynnum wading pool park: 2-4pm, Wednesday, April 9

For those who cannot attend a pop-up kiosk in person, there is an option to leave a digital submission through the Council’s website.

This ensures that everyone can contribute, regardless of their schedule or mobility.

Once all community feedback is collected, a masterplan will be drafted, and the community will be consulted on this plan.

Since the first phase of consultation opened in February, more than 1400 responses have been submitted by the community, helping to shape the future vision of the precinct.
