CRICKET fans and the local community are invited to celebrate the start of the Redlands Tigers Cricket Club’s season at its season launch this Saturday.

The day promises exciting cricket, family fun, and entertainment for all ages.

The feature match sees Redlands Tigers 1st Grade, led by Queensland and Big Bash star James Bazley, take on reigning champions the Ipswich Hornets in the KFC T20 Max competition, starting at 1pm.

With Redlands undefeated after the opening round, fans can expect a fast-paced contest packed with talent – an ideal way to begin the cricket season in the Redlands.

The event will have something for everyone, including a barbecue thanks to NAB Capalaba, and the Brisbane Heat activation zone with games, prizes, and family-friendly activities, plus a special appearance from Brisbane Heat team mascot “Heater”.

Festivities begin from 11am, with juniors invited to take part in mini games on the historic Peter Burge Oval.

Supporters will also have the chance to meet and watch some of Australia’s top cricketers in action, including Jimmy Peirson, Mac Wright, James Bazley, Jackson Sinfield and Sam Heazlett, who will all feature for Redlands in the afternoon clash.

Redlands Tigers Club President Sean Lloyd said the launch was about more than cricket.

“This is a celebration of our community and cricket in the Redlands,” he said.

“We’re excited to bring people together for a day of cricket, fun, and the chance to meet some of the country’s best cricketers.

“It’s going to be a fantastic day out for the whole family.”

Redlands Tigers Cricket Club, Birkdale Rd, Wellington Point.

Festivities from 11am | 1st Grade T20 from 1pm.
