Police have taken a 25-year-old man into custody following investigations into a suspicious fire at a Capalaba business last night, 21 August.

It will be alleged the man set the Finucane Road business on fire around 9.30pm and then left the scene in a blue Mazda.

Two people who were inside the business at the time of the fire were able to escape without physical injuries.

Detectives from Bayside Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) and Taskforce Masher arrested the man at Deception Bay this afternoon, 22 August.

Police investigations into this offence have also resulted in the seizure of two firearms.

The man was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he remains under police guard due to injuries alleged to have occurred as a result of the arson.

Investigations are ongoing.
