WYNNUM RSL has celebrated a victorious finish to the March On Challenge, surpassing its fundraising target by raising an impressive $2419 for Soldier On’s mental health services.

The team exceeded their initial goal of $2000, with funds set to support the life-changing programs that help Australian Defence Force (ADF) veterans, and their families, thrive in their communities.

The initiative culminated in a highly successful community barbecue fundraiser, where members of the Wynnum RSL staff, Women’s Auxiliary, and the Bayside community came together to support the cause.

The event saw an outpouring of local support, with many rallying behind the important work of Soldier On, which provides mental health services and programs for those who have served in the ADF.

Among the standout contributors was Wynnum RSL Sub Branch Treasurer Alan Snow.

His dedication to the challenge earned him Opal Hero status after raising significant funds and logging an extraordinary 179km, nearly the length of the Kokoda Trail.

Despite Cyclone Alfred making conditions challenging, Mr Snow’s determination shone through, showcasing his commitment to supporting the wellbeing of veterans and their families.

The fundraising page for the March On Challenge will remain open for another month, giving the community more time to contribute.
