SeaLink is carrying out an investigation after a passenger ferry crashed into a pylon off Macleay Island on June 5.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said crews were called to the scene at 7.50 pm.

Paramedics assessed 10 people with minor injuries before taking a man in his 40s to Redland Hospital.

A QAS spokesperson said the passenger ferry docked safely.

A Sealink spokeswoman said passengers were quickly assisted by crew members and a full investigation was now under way.

“Minor vessel repairs have been organised and are expected to take one week,” she said.

“All timetabled services to the bay islands ran to schedule.”

Photos posted to social media in the wake of last Monday’s crash show damage to seats inside the cabin.

A total of 24 passengers were on board the ferry when it struck the pylon, according to QAS.
