REDLANDS United are preparing for what promises to be an action-packed 2025 season as the 106-year-old club gets set for the Football Queensland Premier League (FQPL) campaign.

Under the guidance of head coach Garrett McDuling, FQPL coach Jayce Gilchrist, and U23 head coach Albert Ferrer, the club is in full swing with its pre-season training, setting the stage for a competitive year ahead.

The Kappa Pro Series, which kicks off on Friday (January 31), will be the first major test for the Red Devils, with the team facing off against strong opponents including Brisbane Strikers, St George Willawong, Wolves FC, SWQ Thunder, and Lions FC.

Four of the five matches will take place at Redlands United’s Cleveland Showgrounds, providing a familiar setting for the team to build chemistry and test their new lineup.

McDuling spoke about the importance of the Kappa Pro Series.

“The Kappa Pro Series is a great pre-season tournament that leads into the season,” he said.

“It’s an excellent way to provide competitive matches for all teams involved, and it also allows us to gauge our team’s progress.

“The first game against Brisbane Strikers at home will be a great test, especially to see how our new players have integrated into the squad.”

In addition to the senior squad’s preparations, the Redlands United Academy teams are also ramping up for the 2025 season in the Football Queensland Academy Leagues.

Both the boys’ and girls’ teams have returned from the holiday break with renewed focus, starting their pre-
season fixtures at the end of January against Ipswich FC and in early February against Brisbane Strikers.
