WITH Australia Day fast approaching, Federal Member for Bowman Henry Pike is calling on Redlanders to showcase their national pride by participating in an expanded community initiative.

Following the success of last year’s flag giveaway, Mr Pike is offering 2000 Australian-made car flags to locals as part of a campaign to make the Redlands Australia’s most patriotic city.

Last year, Mr Pike ran a city-wide raffle offering 100 Australian flags and wall-mounted flagpoles, which generated an overwhelming response with more than 2500 locals entering the competition.

The enthusiasm inspired this year’s expanded initiative, which will distribute 2000 car flags that can be easily attached to vehicles.

The flags will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Mr Pike said the initiative was a way to further reinforce the Redlands’ commitment to the core values of Australia: freedom, fairness, and unity.

“Our city flies the Australian flag proudly because of the core values it represents,” he said.

“We’re a nation defined by freedom, committed to a fair go for all. Under this flag, we are one and free.”

Reflecting on last year’s success, Mr Pike expressed his excitement at seeing even more Redlanders embrace the initiative this year.

“I was blown away by the response we had last year, and I’m looking forward to even more people flying the flag this January,” he said.
