THE Central Moreton Bay Chapter of OzFish is a dedicated group of anglers and environmental enthusiasts committed to preserving and enhancing the aquatic habitats of Moreton Bay.
Focused on sustainable fishing practices and habitat restoration, the chapter undertakes projects that protect local waterways and support marine biodiversity.
Through community engagement, educational initiatives, and hands-on conservation efforts, they foster a strong sense of stewardship and connection to the environment.
To get involved, participate in their events, volunteer for restoration activities, or become a member to contribute to the ongoing efforts to safeguard Central Moreton Bay’s vital ecosystems.
The Central Moreton Bay OzFish Chapter was established in 2017 and since then the passionate team has grown the chapter to hundreds of members who together promote advancements to community-driven shellfish reef restoration.
Location: The Chapter is located in South East Queensland and the shellfish recycling centre is located at the Port of Brisbane.
Country: The Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land and sea in the Moreton Bay region include the Jagera/Turrbal, Jinibara and the Gubbi Gubbi/Kabi Kabi peoples.
Meeting: Members meet periodically throughout the year for informal gatherings, discussing projects and enhancements to the region’s fish habitat. Meeting details, including dates and venues, are communicated to members via email.

We want your old gear, as well as any discarded gear you might find while out fishing. Be it fishing line, line spools, lures, sinkers or floats, get it to us and we’ll make sure it doesn’t end up in landfill or polluting our waterways.
Not only that, working with our partners we’ll make sure recyclable items get put to use as something new.
Reusable items will be repaired and renewed for use by fishing-related charities.
All you need to do is post it.
A “reply paid” service with Australia Post has been set up, so all you have to do is pop it into an appropriate envelope or package and send it to us at: OzFish Unlimited, TackleLoop, Reply Paid 91075, Ballina, NSW 2478
Ozfish will take it from there and you can rest easy, knowing you’ve done your bit to help make rec fishing sustainable and our waterways healthy and tidy.
