With operations set to begin next month, the collaboration promises streamlined, affordable diagnostic services that align seamlessly with Assist Allied Health’s holistic approach to patient care.
Assist Allied Health

Established in Capalaba in 2022, Assist Allied Health has carved a niche with innovative physiotherapy treatments for various conditions like sports injuries, back pain, stroke recovery, and respiratory issues.

With an onsite rehabilitation gym and MAP classes for improving mobility of the fascia, Assist Allied Health utilises a mix of exercise, manual therapy, and educational techniques to exceed patients’ health goals.

This clinic is a foundational clinic for the innovative Z10 segmented sleep system that is a physiotherapist prescribed bed and pillow, to assist individuals with sleep disorders or chronic pain to improve their deep sleep cycle.

The physiotherapists at Assist Allied Health are trained in sleep assessments and have access to a Sleep Clinic with sleep physicians to better assist their clients in this area of practice, all part of the business’s comprehensive sleep and pain management services.

SmartCare Diagnostics

SmartCare Diagnostics, founded seven years ago by Kate and Kevin Power, is driven by a mission to provide affordable diagnostics, ensuring access for all patients in the community.

With a focus on rapid results and a patient-centric approach, SmartCare Diagnostics is committed to delivering high-quality care to meet the needs of the community.

When it begins operations within the Assist Allied Health premises in Capalaba, it will be the clinic’s third satellite site, in addition to their main locations in Springfield and Upper Mount Gravatt, and will deliver expertise in bulk-billed cardiac, sleep, and lung function diagnostics to the Redlands’ healthcare offerings.

A collaborative and streamlined process

Together, these two healthcare leaders aim to transform Capalaba into a hub for collaborative, patient-centred care.

“Because of chronic pain, people don’t sleep,” said Assist Allied Health Managing Director and Senior Physiotherapist Daniela Swart. When they don’t sleep, their chronic pain gets worse.

“By addressing sleep, you are addressing chronic pain, and who better than physiotherapists to manage chronic pain and sleep at the same time.” added SmartCare Diagnostics Springfield and Satellite sites Practise Manager Charlene Allimant.

“We do referral based bulk billing for cardiac diagnostics, sleep diagnostics, and lung function testing, and that goes along well with Daniela and her team are doing.”

With a fully equipped rehabilitation gym, advanced diagnostic tools, and shared dedication to improving community health, this partnership promises to address critical gaps in local services, delivering real benefits to patients.
