Q6 e-tron powers Audi’s all-electric line up

The Audi Q6 e-tron has opened the company’s market to lovers of the all-electric vehicle line with its 2024 release.

With Premium Platform Electric (PPE), a technological leap for the next generation of fully electric premium mobility from Audi, it allows optimal use of the advantages of an all-electric drive architecture to improve interior space, efficiency, and performance.

Its powerful and highly efficient electric motors and a newly developed high-voltage battery for an impressive range suitable for everyday use, the new E3 1.2 electronics system allows for vehicle digitalisation to go to a new level.

Announced last week, the Premium Platform Electric feature has been developed jointly with Porsche and will be a key component for the expansion of the global portfolio of all-electric Audi models.

For Audi, it represents an important step in becoming a leading provider of sustainable premium mobility.

For the next generation of electric vehicles from Audi, the company has redeveloped the electric motors, the power electronics, the transmission, as well as the high-voltage battery and all related components and tailored them exactly to the requirements of battery electric vehicles.

The feature will propel the Audi Q6 e-tron ahead of its competitors as it requires 30 percent less installation space than those of previous electric models, while its weight has been reduced by about 20 per cent.

Also, if the driver’s current traffic situation does not allow for dynamic driving, the thermal management system will react to this and minimise the energy usage for the battery conditioning.

This is only the beginning for Audi as it continues to rattle cages in the international vehicle manufacturing market.

Following the world premiere of the Q6 e-tron at its production site in Ingolstadt in March and the European premiere at the House of Progress during Milan Design Week in April, the all-electric vehicle will soon be on display at other events.

From May 22 to 25, tech enthusiasts from all over the world can experience the Audi Q6 e-tron at Vivatech in Paris, the leading European technology trade fair, prior to its release.
