Halloween proved it is not just for the children as people of all ages walked the hallowed paths of the Alexandra Hills Putt Putt golf course with skeletons, rats, ghosts and Pesky the clown last weekend.

Director of Artistic Collective agency Andrew Wilson said the course was themed over four days to create a safe space for children and families to enjoy the fun of Halloween without trick or treating at the homes of strangers.

“It’s so much fun and I enjoyed witnessing the kids discover the course for the first time,” Mr Wilson said.

He said there was nothing untouched at the course with glow-in-the-dark balls, plenty of cobwebs and seats shared with skeletons.

While the Redlands is expected to discover its dark side on October 31, the putt putt course will remain themed until November 11, with extra special effects on offer for the five days leading up to Halloween.

Each player under 15 will receive a treat bag and there is themed food on different dates.

Motorists on October 31 are being warned to keep a look out for children on Redland streets and home owners to remain vigilant and exercise common sense when opening doors to trick or treaters.

Retailers have noted a boom in Halloween-themed sales, in preparation for the annual event.

Other businesses and community groups are also getting into the spirit, with movie nights, markets, dress-up photo shoots and other events planned across the city.
