LOOKING for the most popular beauty salon in the Redlands and Bayside?

Mystic Tide Hair and Healing has taken the crown this week in our Best Beauty Salon category in the Redlands and Bayside, a win that reflects both its growing reputation and its deeply loyal community.

Located on Middle St, Cleveland, and holding an online 4.7 star rating from locals, the salon has become known not just for its colour work and cuts, but for an atmosphere that blends hairdressing with mindfulness, healing and genuine human connection.

Founder Rebecca Taylor, a local mum of two, says the recognition feels especially meaningful after building the business from the ground up over the past three and a half years.

“I’ve worked incredibly hard to build Mystic Tide into what it is today, a community-based salon with a difference,” she said.

“To know people took the time to vote for us genuinely means a lot.”

She’s equally proud of her small but dedicated team including Tiff, who has just completed her apprenticeship, and Pearl, a first year apprentice already known among regulars for delivering “the BEST head massages”.

What sets Mystic Tide apart is its holistic approach – while hair is the team’s passion, Ms Taylor says the salon is just as focused on how people feel when they walk through the door.

Staff are trained in nervous system awareness and mindfulness, and the salon embraces the “healing” side of its name offering Reiki, basin rituals, sound healing, oracle cards and even ceremonial cacao for clients who want a deeper experience.

“Most importantly, we’re inclusive of all humans,” Ms Taylor said.

“There’s no judgement here. You are safe, you are heard and you matter.”

The business recently expanded into the neighbouring shopfront, launching Mystic Tide Soul Space, a dedicated venue for workshops, women’s circles, healing modalities and community events.

The coming year will bring more hair services, mindfulness education, Reiki training and a November retreat.

Giving back remains central to the salon’s mission.

Ms Taylor regularly provides free haircuts for Mangrove Housing and supports The Forgotten Women project and local schools through vouchers and community initiatives.

“Hair is our passion, and bringing joy to the Redlands is our mission,” she said.
