TWO men have been charged with a combined 24 property crime-related offences following alleged break-ins, vehicle thefts and an armed confrontation at homes in Belmont and Carindale.
Police allege a group forced entry into a Highland Crescent home at Belmont about 3.30am on September 24, stealing a Toyota Camry, a BYD Seal and personal items before leaving in the vehicles.
The group allegedly attempted to enter a second Highland Crescent property but was unable to gain access.
About 4.15am, police allege the group broke into a Holborn Crescent home at Carindale, where they were disturbed by the occupant.
A man allegedly struck the 20-year-old occupant on the hand with a baseball bat before the group fled in the stolen BYD Seal.
No items were taken from the Carindale home.
The victim received medical treatment for minor injuries.
Following investigations by detectives from Cleveland and Upper Mount Gravatt Criminal Investigation Branches, two 19-year-old men were charged in relation to the alleged incidents.
A 19-year-old Kingston man faces 12 charges, including alleged unlawful use of motor vehicles, break-ins, attempted break-ins, armed robbery-related offences, threats and face-masking offences.
A 19-year-old Park Ridge man also faces 12 charges, including alleged unlawful use of motor vehicles, break-ins, attempted break-ins, armed robbery-related offences, threats and face-masking offences.
