A MAN remains in a critical condition, and a teenage boy has been charged after a major disturbance at a Capalaba home on Saturday night.
Police were called to a Wildflower St residence about 10.15pm on September 19 following reports of a large gathering.
Officers arriving at the scene found a significant number of people in the area and were allegedly met with glass bottles being thrown in their direction.
Additional police resources were deployed before officers gained entry to the property.
As members of the group fled, police were alerted to a 16-year-old girl who had collapsed. She was taken to Redland Hospital.
A 43-year-old Birkdale man, who had arrived to collect one of the attendees, suffered a suspected medical episode and was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.
A 17-year-old Thornlands boy was arrested and charged with assault police and street offences. He is due to appear in Cleveland Children’s Court on October 16.
Division 9 Councillor Jason Colley alerted residents late Saturday to an “out of control” party, with neighbours reporting a police helicopter overhead and multiple police vehicles in the area.
One resident said the area was littered with smashed glass and rubbish the following morning, while another said the disturbance had distressed pets.
Police are continuing their investigations and are asking anyone with CCTV, dashcam or home security footage from the area around the time of the incident to contact Policelink at police.qld.gov.au/reporting, call 131 444, or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
