THE Redlands community is mourning the loss of Sheena Hewlett, remembered in an outpouring of tributes as a kind, selfless and deeply caring woman whose life touched families across the Bayside.

Sheena, 60, died last Friday leaving husband Lance, the Hewlett and Dowling families, friends, former students and the wider community devastated by the sudden loss.

In heartfelt messages, readers spoke of a woman who gave generously to others and worked quietly beside her husband in support of the community.

“Sheena was a truly beautiful soul,” Merrin McCulloch wrote.

“She will be missed by so many.”

Sonya Bloss described her as “one of the most selfless people I know”, while Michelle Fischer said Sheena had been “a wonderful asset to our community” who would be sorely missed.

Gary Courtenay remembered her as “a beautiful person”, while Jayne Russell-Wilk wrote that Sheena was “a very precious soul” who would be “very sadly missed”.

For many families, Sheena’s warmth was felt through her work with children.

One reader remembered her simply as “our beautiful kindy teacher Ms Sheena”, while Peter Crane said her students would be grief-stricken by the news.

“Lance and Sheena were such a devoted couple,” Mr Crane wrote.
