Bayside investigators have charged three teens following wilful damage incidents across Brisbane’s bayside between December 2025 to 4 March 2026.

It will be alleged the teens smashed glass panels and graffitied multiple bus shelters across Alexandra Hills, Cleveland, Ormiston, Redland Bay, and Victoria Point.

On 5 March, investigations led to the location and arrest of two teenagers at a Windemere Road field in Alexandra Hills.

A 13-year-old Alexandra Hills boy was charged with four counts of stealing, two counts of wilful damage, and one count of possess tainted property.

A 16-year-old Mount Cotton boy was charged with five counts of wilful damage.

Further investigations resulted in a 14-year-old Capalaba boy being charged with four counts of wilful damage.

The group will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.

Investigations are ongoing.

South Brisbane District Bayside Criminal Investigation Branch Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Lafferty said police have no tolerance for anyone who wilfully damages public property.

“Vandalism and wilful damage of public property is a senseless crime that costs the community time and resources,” he said.

“Police conduct regular patrols across the Brisbane’s bayside to detect and deter offending.

“Members of the public play such an important role providing vital information when reporting criminal activity.

“We encourage anyone who witnesses suspicious behaviour to contact police. Everyone can play a part in crime prevention.”
