WYNNUM Manly Little Athletics has secured $43,010 in State Government funding to install a new discus cage, boosting safety and training opportunities for young athletes across the Bayside.

The funding was awarded through Round 124 of the Queensland Government’s Gambling Community Benefit Fund, which supports community organisations with grants for infrastructure and equipment upgrades.

The new discus cage is expected to enhance safety for athletes, officials and spectators, while also allowing the club to expand training and competition opportunities for its growing membership.

The Gambling Community Benefit Fund is one of Queensland’s largest grant programs, distributing funding to not-for-profit community groups to support projects that deliver long-term benefits at a local level.

Applications for the next funding round are set to open in mid-January, and will close on February 28.

Grants of up to $35,000 will be available in Round 125, providing further opportunities for local clubs and community organisations to improve facilities and services.

Community groups seeking more information are encouraged to prepare applications early to take advantage of the upcoming round.
