Local not-for-profit community organisations can learn more about Redland City Council’s new grants program through a series of free information sessions.

Mayor Jos Mitchell said the new Events on Redlands Coast and Stronger Communities grant programs would open in January 2026, replacing the current Community Grant, Capital Infrastructure Grant, Village Events and Activation Grant and Sponsorship funding programs.

“The new programs have been developed to fulfil the requirement for a more modern funding model that meets the community’s needs,” the Mayor said.

“The new categories will support the community in offering events that enhance the vibrancy of our region and providing services to support the wellbeing of people of all ages and abilities across the city.

“Application and administration processes have also been streamlined.”

The Mayor said eight 30-minute information sessions would be held between 15 December 2025 and 22 January 2026.

“The sessions will allow Council officers to share information on each of the new funding categories, with additional time for potential applicants to ask questions specific to their needs,” the Mayor said.

“With new grant categories set to open from late January, this is a timely opportunity for eligible organisations to register for one of the sessions and discover how Council can support them in delivering events, projects and initiatives for the broader community benefit.”

Dates and locations for information sessions:

  • Monday 15 December 2025 at 11am – Cleveland Library
  • Wednesday 17 December 2025 at 1.30pm – Victoria Point Community Hall
  • Monday 12 January 2026 at 12pm – online session via Teams
  • Tuesday 13 January 2026 at 10am – Macleay Island Community Hall
  • Wednesday 14 January 2026 at 10.30am – Dunwich Community Hall, North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah)
  • Tuesday 20 January 2026 at 10am – Russell Island Community Hall
  • Wednesday 21 January 2026 at 1pm – Cleveland Library
  • Thursday 22 January 2026 at 12pm – online session via Teams.

Information on each session and how to register is available on Council’s website.

The new Events on Redlands Coast and Stronger Communities Grant Programs include categories for:

  • Rapid Response Grant – from $500 to $3000, opening 23 January 2026
  • Signature Events Attraction and Retention Fund – up to $60,000, opening 23 January 2026
