Anyone interested in volunteering is invited to look at various opportunities at a volunteering recruitment expo being staged at the Victoria Point community hall, Link Road from 10am to 2pm on September 7.
Among the representatives are members of the Redlands branch of the Cancer Council Queensland, Save the Children, Fun Farm Ltd, Mission to Seafarers, BIMSARA, Circle of Men, Drug ARM, Royal Life Saving Society Queensland and Redland Coast Dementia Community.
STAR community services marketing coordinator Neha Shukla said the expo was a chance to find a flexible and exciting role to suit people’s skills and interests.
“People who come along can learn more about local community organisations and how they can get involved and really make a difference,” she said.
She said it was also a place to get any queries answered so future volunteers could make an informed decision.
“People get a great deal out of volunteering. It’s something social for them and a place to enjoy a cuppa and spend time with like-minded people,” she said.
“Joining Volunteering Redlands is a way for people to make an immediate and positive impact on their local community. Some people just need to know where to start.”
This event aims to connect people eager to contribute their time and skills, with meaningful volunteering opportunities.
The expo is free and open to everyone.
