Attention homeowners of Redlands Coast. Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey of selling your beloved property?
Look no further, as we have the perfect starter tips to help you make a lasting impression on potential buyers.
So, it has come time to sell, and you have called your agent in, set a price and you are reaching the point of getting your home ready for photos, marketing and open homes.
Like most sellers it can be overwhelming not knowing what they can do to help their property stand out.
We reached out to a local Redlands agent Mandy Rowe from @realty who gave us some top tips for preparing your home for sale.
- Clear out excess clutter, including personal items, photos and memorabilia.
- Give your home a thorough cleaning, paying attention to every room, including windows, floors, carpets, and bathrooms.
- Rearrange furniture to showcase the flow and functionality of each room. Use neutral colours and minimal decor to create a welcoming and visually appealing atmosphere.
- Address any visible repairs, such as leaking taps, squeaky doors, stained carpets or cracked tiles. Fixing these issues shows buyers that your home has been well-maintained.
- Boost your home’s exterior appeal by tidying up the yard, trimming shrubs, mowing the lawn and adding potted plants or flowers to create an inviting entrance.
- If repainting, use a neutral colour palette on walls to make the space feel bright, clean and appealing to a wider range of buyers.
- Replace burnt-out bulbs and maximise natural light by opening/removing curtains or blinds.
- Neatly organise cupboards and storage areas to showcase available space. Buyers appreciate ample storage.
- Emphasise unique features or recent upgrades in your home, such as energy-efficient appliances, a renovated kitchen or a new roof.
- Seek guidance from a reputable real estate agent who can offer valuable insights into styling your property for sale.
Home staging has also become very popular in recent years and is a good option for those homes that are vacant or need a bit more of a “vibe” to attract buyers. This also helps give buyers a better insight of the useability of the spaces around the home.
Local home stager Zac Cole from Cole Interiors in Redland Bay said the were firm believers that staging a home for sale not only increases the potential in your home but helps buyers see the home as if it were their own.
Staging can increase your asking price, which essentially makes it an investment rather than just an outgoing cost.
