The State of Origin series in 2025 is set to electrify the rugby league world once again, and with New South Wales appointing Laurie Daley as coach and Craig Bellamy as a football advisor, there’s a blueprint in place to maintain their winning ways.

Daley, the former NSW Origin coach and legend, will leverage Bellamy’s strategic expertise to craft a formidable game plan.

Bellamy, renowned for his success with Melbourne Storm, brings a wealth of experience in nurturing and executing rugby league dynasties.

For NSW, the expectations are soaring after their success in 2024.

They’re driven to sustain their dominance, especially with home-field advantage in key matches.

The dynamic duo of Daley and Bellamy will likely focus on a blend of tactical discipline and raw talent to combat Queensland’s perennial magic. It’s innovation versus tradition, with a hint of modern flair.

On the flip side, Queensland coach Billy Slater faces an intriguing challenge. With Ben Hunt and Daly Cherry-Evans contemplating retirement to focus on their club careers, Slater may need to inject fresh blood into his lineup.

But Slater is no stranger to overcoming hurdles and igniting Queensland’s fighting spirit, particularly at Suncorp Stadium, their fortress.

Slater’s task is to seamlessly integrate new talent, preserving Queensland’s legacy while keenly aware of NSW’s tactical evolution.

The Origin opener at Suncorp will set the tone, and with both states striving for supremacy, this season promises unforgettable battles and emerging stars.

Ultimately, it’s a classic rivalry poised to deliver another chapter in rugby league folklore.
