Are you a visionary with a purpose in life – palm will tell

Are you a visionary with a purpose in life - palm will tell

AS human beings we are all unique, and previous columns have dealt with the unbelievable odds of us not only being born but living to a ripe old age.

Further to this commentary, it seems that some of us are more unique than others in some ways.

Evidently, some of us have what is called a “simian” hand, where a simian crease or a line (in humans) is a single transverse crease that extends across the palm of the hand formed by the fusion of two palmar creases.

It appears that only about 1.5% of the population have this unusual crease, generally on one hand but rarely on two.

So, I see that you’re checking your hands to test the theory out!

Are you one of the 1.5% in the population to have this unusual line?

Males seem more than twice as likely than females to have this characteristic.

Sorry ladies if you missed out, as palm readers would say, “those having this distinctive mark have a strong heart and a strong mind”.

If you have a simian line, do you think that you’re a visionary with a purpose in life?

This line of fact finding led to things of which I was unaware.

Your eye is your fastest muscle and is capable of contracting in less than 1/100th of a second – it’s why the saying goes, “it can happen in the blink of an eye”.

Were you aware that you blink less when reading, and that’s one reason why you get tired…or that just 2% of the population have green eyes?

Our eyes remain the same size from about three months old, but our nose and ears, although appearing to still grow, lose their “oomph” and gradually sag as we get older, which is why they appear to keep growing.

Did you know that we have more than 160,000km of blood vessels, which includes veins, arteries and communicating little capillaries that move between both.

Imagine every single muscle, organ, every bit of skin or nerve needs its own supply of blood.

Most people know that the skin is the largest organ and is mainly there to keep everything else in, while it also accounts for 15% of our body weight.

However, it does many more things. It keeps us at the right temperature, helps with touch and sensation and allows us to move without restriction, it heals and regenerates constantly.

Actually, our brains are the most exciting part of them all. They record everything we do, erase stuff we don’t want, re-write memories each time we think of them and at times erase or distort those thoughts of our childhood memories.

We have been given free will to do what we want with our life.

Our bodies, no matter how old, are unique to us – our thoughts, our feelings, our actions are ours alone.

So, you would have to feel unique if you had green eyes and a simian hand, wouldn’t you!
