REDLANDS Coast Multisport Club (RCMC) athletes turned on the power at the Moreton Bay Triathlon, with five club members achieving impressive results in near-perfect racing conditions.
Competitors were treated to a sunny day with calm water and no wind on the bike course and a flat run track.
Darren Farlow impressed in the long course, claiming second place in his age group.
Kai Haynes delivered a dominant performance, storming home to win his age group.
Christine Kinlay also claimed silver in her age group after a strong race, joking that the long run into deep water for the swim nearly did her in before the event even began.
Lucan O’Brien held his own in a hotly contested field, finishing sixth in his age group after pushing through a tough final 5km.
Joanne Johnson capped off a strong showing for the club, placing fifth in her age group.
RCMC also congratulated its athletes selected for the 2025 World Triathlon Championships in Wollongong from October 15-19.
Those representing Australia are Linda Merideth, Bronwyn Williams, Bridget Copeland, Sally McLean, Joanne Johnson, Donna Cameron and Kelly Phuah.
Clubmate Kai Haynes will also pull on the green and gold.
