REDLANDS Touch Association has announced a change in leadership, with long-serving Operations Manager Jason Hemson stepping back from the role after six years with the organisation.

Mr Hemson, who has held the Operations Manager position for the past three and a half years, has decided to take a well-earned break and pursue new opportunities following a period of sustained growth for the community-based sporting association.

During his tenure, Redlands Touch Association expanded and strengthened both its junior and senior competitions, navigating the challenges that come with managing a large, volunteer-driven organisation.

The association credited Mr Hemson’s leadership, experience and deep understanding of sport—drawn from decades working across Australia and New Zealand—as instrumental in its development.

While he is stepping away from his formal duties, Mr Hemson is expected to remain a familiar face at the fields, with the association noting his ongoing passion for touch football and his intention to continue enjoying the sport at a grassroots level.

The association has also confirmed the appointment of Charlie Griffiths as the new Operations Manager.

A long-standing member of the Redlands Touch community, Mr Griffiths brings extensive experience from roles with a range of sporting organisations and venues.

Most recently, he worked with the Queensland Sports and Athletics Centre and Queensland Touch Football.

Redlands Touch Association welcomed Mr Griffiths to the role and said it looked forward to his contribution as the organisation continues to build on its success and support the local touch football community.
