Redlands businesses will have the chance to get a head start on Olympic opportunities at a special breakfast event this Thursday, offering a first look at the Brisbane 2032 Games Procurement Program.

The event will give local small and medium enterprises insight into how they can take part in Queensland’s Olympic legacy, with more than 50 Expressions of Interest (EOIs) already open to businesses across the state.

These cover a wide range of services including technology, temporary venues, signage, event production, and market research.

The breakfast will feature key presentations from Minister for Sport and Racing and Minister for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tim Mander, and Minister for Customer Services and Open Data and Minister for Small and Family Business Steve Minnikin, alongside representatives from the Department and the Brisbane 2032 Organising Committee.

Member for Redlands Rebecca Young said the event represented a valuable opportunity for local businesses to position themselves early.

“The Brisbane 2032 Games will showcase Queensland to the world — and I want to see Redlands businesses front and centre,” Mrs Young said.

“This breakfast is about connecting local business owners with key decision-makers, learning how to bid for contracts, and discovering how the Games can help grow their operations right here in the Redlands.”

Local businesses interested in attending are encouraged to email [email protected] to secure their place. Spaces are limited.
