The Queensland squad for the 2024 National Trampoline Championships has welcomed three more athletes from the Redlands to its ranks.

Levi Coutts Hohen-haus joins the state team to compete in Level 6 trampoline, Abi Van Dam also qualified for Level 6 Trampoline as well as double mini and Johnah Masri for Youth Under 13 Trampoline.

They were among 40 members of Redland City Gymsports who competed in the South Queensland Interclub Challenge and Nationals Qualifier over the weekend of October 28-29.

The final Interclub Challenge of the year was held for the first time at two different locations. The Gymnastics Queensland High Performance Centre hosted Level 1-3 events, while higher levels competed at Roberson Gymnastics Club in Sunnybank.

Four other club athletes – Charlotte Johnstone, Trey Morales, Ella Brushe and Bella Malcolm – qualified for nationals at earlier competitions.

Head coach Melanie Tonks said Ivy Douglas was the standout athlete across the weekend, placing second in Level 2 under 8 Trampoline, third in Double Mini and fourth in Tumbling.

Other gold medallists were Sophie Eustace in Level 1 Trampoline, Liam Preston in Level 1 Trampoline and Double Mini, Alex Bravey in Level 2 under 8 Double Mini and Chelsea Foster in Level 2A Double Mini.

Redland City Gymsports earned six gold, 11 silver and 10 bronze medals, with an additional 23 placements within the top six.
