THE plight of a local family has touched the hearts of many in our close Redland Bayside community.

Jodie Bromiley, who owns and operates the Bay Collective boutique in Wellington Point, has been diagnosed with breast cancer for the fourth time.

Along with her husband Dennis, a longstanding Redlands firefighter, and their three young daughters, the family are facing a difficult battle.

A Ladies’ Afternoon Tea will be held from 2pm on Saturday, September 6 at Ormiston College, in a community fundraising initiative for the family.

Jodie was first diagnosed with breast cancer in her early thirties and has battled quietly three times.

Now she is facing her hardest battle.

“Those who know Jodie would never know how hard she has quietly fought, always putting everyone else before herself,” said event co-organiser Pip Mainwaring.

“So, this is a fight to keep life as steady and full of love for the family despite the uncertainty and heartache.”

More information is available on the Jodie’s Exotic High Tea Fundraiser Facebook page.
