RedCity Roar Basketball has recognised the outstanding contributions of long-time volunteer Ann Johnson, awarding her Life Membership at its 2025 Annual General Meeting.

Ann has been a dedicated figure in Redlands basketball for more than two decades, beginning her volunteer journey with Redlands PCYC in 2002 and continuing her service with RedCity Roar since its formation in 2019.

Over the years, she has played a pivotal role across many areas of the sport – from coaching and team management to administration and program coordination.

One of her most significant contributions has been leading the association’s introductory basketball programs.

She was instrumental in coordinating the much-loved “Biddy Ball” sessions, which have since evolved into the highly successful “CUBS” program – designed to introduce children aged 4 to 8 to the game, build their skills and confidence, and prepare them for junior club competition.

Ann’s recognition has been met with a wave of congratulations from across the Redlands basketball community.

“So well deserved for such a great human. Ann has done so much for Redlands basketball,” said Jacob Nicholls.

Carina Crockford added: “Congrats Ann Johnson, couldn’t think of a more deserving person.”

Others echoed the sentiment, with Robert Weeks saying it was “well deserved” and Christine Harrison posting:

“Congratulations Ann. Very well deserved.”

RedCity Roar congratulates Ann on this well-deserved honour and thanks her for her remarkable service to the Redlands basketball community.
