A NEW chapter in Capalaba’s long-awaited transformation has officially begun, with the opening of the Capalaba Town Centre Sales Suite giving residents their first detailed look at the $183 million redevelopment set to reshape the gateway to Redlands Coast.

The sales suite was officially opened by Redland City Acting Mayor Julie Talty, marking a significant milestone for the Capalaba Town Centre project.

The historic redevelopment is being delivered by Shayher Group in partnership with Redland Investment Corporation (RIC) and Redland City Council.

Cr Talty said the revitalisation project represented a major step forward for Capalaba and the wider Redlands Coast community.

“Capalaba has long been recognised as a key transport and employment hub, but this project will finally give it a true heart,” Cr Talty said.

“Through strong public-private partnerships, Council is helping unlock the potential of this precinct, delivering jobs, community facilities and a town centre that locals can be proud of, both day and night.

“With the opening of the sales suite, the community can now engage with the project as it develops.”

The revitalisation will deliver a new mixed-use precinct featuring a town square, improved pedestrian connections, a diverse retail and dining offering, commercial office space and boutique residential apartments.

Key civic assets will also be reinstated within the precinct, including Capalaba Library, the Customer Service Centre, an arts space and a community hall.

The project is expected to play a vital role in driving investment, employment and renewed confidence in the heart of Capalaba.

Redland Investment Corporation CEO Cameron McColl said the sales suite opening was an exciting milestone for RIC, Shayher and Council.

“RIC exists as the conduit to the public and private sectors, and the Capalaba Town Centre project is a powerful example of how collaboration can deliver long-term value for the Redlands Coast,” Mr McColl said.

Following a national expression-of-interest process, Shayher Group was selected as development partner based on its proven track record delivering high-quality, mixed-use precincts across Australia, including Brisbane Quarter and the W Brisbane.

Shayher Group Head of Sales and Leasing Craig Hinkins said the sales suite provided an important window into the future of Capalaba.

“The sales suite allows people to see how the town centre will come together, from public spaces and retail to civic buildings and transport integration,” Mr Hinkins said.

“We’ve worked closely with RIC, community stakeholders, design partners and Council teams to ensure this precinct responds to local character while creating something truly contemporary and functional.”

Construction of Stage 1 is planned to commence from May 2026.

In the meantime, the sales suite will provide ongoing information about the project, timelines and future opportunities.

The sales suite is in Shop S26, adjacent to the food court, in Capalaba Central Shopping Centre.
