THREE talented local athletes from Level 8 Sport Aerobics have done their club and community proud after representing Australia at the FISAF Sport Aerobics World Championships held in Prague from October 21-23.

Coached by eight-time world champion Allira Bull, the girls showcased incredible skill, strength and dedication against the world’s best.

Poppy Thorne placed an impressive fifth in the Junior International Single, while Ruby Allen finished sixth in the same category.

Ruby also competed in the Junior International Duo with Level 8 clubmate Ayla Little, who lives in Newcastle – meaning the pair often train virtually or travel interstate to practise together, a testament to their commitment to the sport.

Poppy Allen took a great seventh place in the International Youth Single.

Sport aerobics is a dynamic discipline that combines high-intensity movement, strength, flexibility and artistry – all performed to upbeat music.

Athletes are judged on their ability to perform complex routines with precision, creativity and energy, making it both a physically demanding and visually exciting sport.

Reflecting on the team’s success, coach Bull said she was immensely proud of the girls and the hard work they put into their training in the lead-up to the event.

“These girls have trained with such passion and determination,” she said.

Their results highlight the growing success of Level 8 Sport Aerobics Club and the depth of young talent emerging from the local community.

The club offers classes at Ormiston and Morningside, inspiring the next generation of athletes to reach for their goals.
