REAL Estate Agent Kerry Burton balances her thriving real estate career with her deep love for her community.

The Coochiemudlo Island resident is calling for urgent action to tackle parking challenges as the island’s population grows.

Originally from Sydney, Kerry has lived in the Redlands for most of her life, describing her island home as “paradise” and a reflection of “the way the world used to be”.

As a mother and grandmother, Kerry treasures time spent with her family and enjoys the company of a close friend who has brought her joy after being widowed following nearly 40 years of marriage.

She also feels immensely proud to work alongside her daughter Lara in real estate, describing her as “amazing”.

Looking ahead, Kerry hopes for more commerce in the Redlands and improvements to parking amenities on the islands.

“The population of all of our islands is expanding rapidly,” she said.

“We are not keeping up with providing parking amenity to all these new ratepayers.”

When asked about her guiding life ethos, Kerry’s response was simple yet profound – people matter.

“Whether it be in my working life or my personal life, the people I engage with and spend my time with mean everything to me,” she said.

“I am a person with ‘helping hands’.”

Outside of her work life, Kerry’s go-to destination in the wonderful Redlands is the stunning beaches of Coochiemudlo.

“My quiet time is backgammon and just sitting on our beautiful beaches at Coochie,” she said.

“The perfect combination to chillax.”

Kerry enjoys the positivity of real estate, meeting wonderful people and sharing in the excitement of her clients’ new journeys.

“My sellers are happy and excited for their new adventures as are my buyers,” she said.

“They all become a big part of my journey and me theirs.”
