A fan favourite Wellington Point indian restaurant has been named a finalist for the 2023 Redlands Business Excellence Awards.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary this month, Jaipur Palace has been announced as a finalist in the food and hospitality category.

Restaurant owner Dharminder Singh said he was thrilled by the news, especially considering how far the restaurant has come over the past 25 years.

“We started with only seating 35 people and now we seat over 200,” he said.

“The business has just absolutely expanded, and we are now close to 30 staff members.”

Mr Singh said the regular diners were what made running a business in the Redlands so appealing.

“The people here are absolutely fantastic, and it is always so lovely to see familiar faces in the restaurant,” he said.

“Talking to our regulars just feels like talking to family.”

The restaurant was established in 1988 and is a family-run business with several family members on the team.

Mr Singh said he had spent half of his life in the restaurant and was very passionate about continuing the successful legacy.

“I have always been involved but now my kids are also starting to which is just lovely to see,” he said.

“A lot of restaurants can make curry, but the ambience and service are ultimately the make or break.

“I believe that food service and ambience is something that not many restaurants can get right.”

With a busy period ahead, Jaipur Palace aims to celebrate its 25th anniversary early next year.

“We want to give back and celebrate our success with our regulars who have continuously shown us support,” Mr Singh said.
