Police have charged a man following investigations into complaints from the community of fireworks being set off at a jetty in Lota.

It is alleged shortly after midnight on October 19 a group set off a container of fireworks before fleeing along Esplanade in the direction of Cobar Street.

Following extensive investigations, on November 9 police conducted a search warrant on a Bellevue Parade address.

It will be alleged a box of fireworks were located in addition to cannabis plants and product.

A 35-year-old Kelvin Grove man was subsequently charged with one count each of authority required to possess explosives, possessing dangerous drugs, and producing dangerous drugs.
