On my recent visit to Hog’s Breath Café at Raby Bay, I decided to treat myself to something truly indulgent – the iconic 18-hour slow-cooked Prime Rib.

I’ve heard so much about this dish, and after one bite, I understood exactly why it has such a reputation.

Let’s start with the Prime Rib itself. Cooked to perfection, medium-rare, as I requested, the meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender.

You can truly taste the love and care that goes into slow cooking it for 18 hours.

It’s clear that Hog’s Breath Café takes great pride in serving up the finest beef.

Plump and succulent, each accompanying prawn was bathed in a rich garlic butter sauce that brought a luxurious depth of flavour.

Together with the Prime Rib, the prawns added a perfect burst of freshness and an extra layer of indulgence to an already outstanding meal.

To wash it all down, I took the opportunity to try a craft beer from the extensive selection.

The smooth, crisp taste of a 4 Pines was the perfect complement to the richness of the steak.

And if cocktails are more your style, you’re in luck – Hog’s Breath Café also serves up a variety of expertly mixed cocktails, with over 50 options.

Whether you’re sipping on a refreshing gin and tonic or something a little stronger, the drink options elevate the whole dining experience.

But there’s much more to Hog’s than a great meal.

It’s a welcoming space for everyone.

The family and dog-friendly outdoor area makes it easy to enjoy a meal with loved ones, or bring your furry friend along.

On Sunday afternoons, when I visited, the café transforms with live music, creating the perfect vibe for relaxing with friends or family over drinks and great food.

Plus, there are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu, ensuring everyone can find something to enjoy.
