HELEN Politis, a real estate agent with Harcourts Property Centre, has spent her life balancing a thriving career with raising her family in the Bayside area.

Married to husband Dimitri for 27 years, Helen has navigated the joys and challenges of motherhood with their three sons – Jack, 25, James, 23, and George, 21.

As her children transition into adulthood, Helen is embracing the changes that come with becoming an “almost empty nester”.

“I’m embracing the change by throwing myself into work,” she said.

An active member of her community, Helen has always been involved with local groups and fundraising initiatives, particularly in schools and local rugby clubs like Wynnum Bugs, where her sons once played.

She’s currently looking for a community group to sponsor, offering support to causes close to her heart.

“If anyone needs some assistance with their community group or a good cause, I would love to hear from them to see how I can help,” she said.

Helen’s approach to life is simple yet profound: “Be kind.”

“You never know what is going on in someone’s life, and others are all too quick to judge and throw stones.”

Working in real estate, Helen finds great satisfaction in helping people navigate major life decisions.

“This sounds so cliché’ but I do love helping people through major decisions and transitions in life,” she said.

“It is a real privilege to be invited into people’s lounge rooms to discuss their goals and aspirations.”

Her empathy shines through as she works with clients transitioning from homes where they’ve spent decades of their lives.

Helen’s own roots in the Bayside area go back generations.

Her parents moved to Manly in the 1990s, where they built a sailing boat, and her family connections in the region extend back to the 1880s.

“My grandfather’s farm was on Pt O’Halloran Rd, Victoria Point and he could grow anything in the red soil,” she said.

After living in various locations due to her husband’s airline career, Helen and her family returned to Manly in 2002, followed by a six-year stint in Vanuatu before settling back in Wynnum/Manly in 2012.

Reflecting on the growth of the Bayside, Helen is excited about the future of the area.

“I have loved seeing the area grow to what it is today. There is simply no better place to live and work,” she said.

Looking ahead, Helen is confident about the future of Bayside property.
