FANS of the wizarding world are in for a treat as the highly anticipated Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience is set to open at Sirromet Winery this winter.

The immersive outdoor event, which has already enchanted audiences across the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Melbourne, will debut in Mount Cotton on June 20.

Set against the picturesque backdrop of Sirromet Winery, the experience promises a captivating light trail through the iconic Forbidden Forest.

Visitors will have the chance to encounter some of the most beloved creatures and magical moments from both the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts series.

Sirromet Wines CEO Risko Isic said the Harry Potter activation would have a huge impact for tourism in Redlands, Brisbane and the wider South East Queensland region.

“Sirromet is thrilled to partner in bringing Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience to Queensland,” he said.

“We anticipate a significant boost to the Redlands Coast, Brisbane, and the broader visitor economy.

“As the host venue, we’re committed to providing an unforgettable experience, showcasing our award-winning wines, exceptional cuisine, accommodation, and renowned hospitality to guests from near and far.”

Redlands Coast Chamber of Commerce President Suze Tafolo said it was fantastic news for Redlands.

“Events like this are unique not only in bringing world-class entertainment to our region but also by providing a major boost for local businesses,” she said.

“This is the perfect opportunity for other businesses to get creative and join in on the excitement by thinking about bringing in Harry Potter-themed activities and special deals to draw visitors in.

“It’s a great way to show off our region.

“We commend Sirromet for being a leader in this field and creating this fantastic opportunity.”

SeaLink South East Queensland General Manager Ben Renwick said he was excited to see a world-class experience like Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience coming to our region.

“It’s a huge win for local tourism, and we love seeing our friends at Sirromet continue to put Redlands on the map,” he said.

“We’re working closely with them on an exciting Sirromet and North Stradbroke Island package to help visitors make the most of their trip – more on that soon.”

Deputy Mayor and Division 6 Councillor Julie Talty said the opportunity to have this exhibition at Sirromet was a wonderful example of events-based tourism growing our local economy.

“I am so excited for our local children to be able to experience a little Harry Potter magic right here at Sirromet,” she said.

“I read all of the Harry Potter series to my children, and imaging the world of Harry and his friends through this immersive trail sounds very exciting for all of our budding witches and wizards.”

State Member for Redlands Rebecca Young also welcomed Harry Potter’s arrival as a significant boost for local tourism and the economy.

“Bringing a world-class experience like Harry Potter to Sirromet is not just magical for fans – it’s a huge win for our local economy,” Ms Young said.

“Events like this draw visitors from across Queensland and beyond, putting Redlands on the map as a must-visit destination.”

A Redland City Council spokesperson said bringing Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience to Redlands Coast is an exciting opportunity to highlight the region as a premier destination for major events.

“Council is pleased to have a played a small part in securing this world-class experience by providing guidance and support to the Sirromet team to ensure all the necessary permits to enable the event were secured,” the spokesperson said.
