The Redlands Coast is on the cusp of an unprecedented era in its history, with a ten-year, $6 billion investment pipeline of 138 separate projects set to transform the region – creating employment opportunities, attracting new residents and visitors and improving quality of life for residents.

Some of these projects we have seen already commence and others are still awaiting approvals or concept mapping, but they all include incredible opportunities for the Redlands Coast in tourism, sustainable development, infrastructure, job creation and more.

Some of these projects include the Redland Bay Village Expansion, Redlands Health Precincts, Dunwich (Gumpi) Master Plan, DAF Hydrogen Pilot Program, Minjerribah Coastal Walk, Toondah Harbour, Eastern Busway, Redlands Coast Regional Sports and Recreation Precinct, Birkdale Community Precinct, Capalaba Town Centre and many more.

Within the next decade, the area is set to become one of south-east Queensland’s most dynamic, prosperous and sustainable economies, supporting a thriving network of new businesses in emerging and fast-growing sectors, such as automation, sustainability, ecotourism and electric vehicles.

The diversity of these projects demonstrates the breadth and dynamism of the Redlands Coast economy and the attractiveness of the region as an investment proposition across so many sectors. Many of these projects will deliver new and enhanced local amenities – new parks, children’s playgrounds, walking and cycling tracks that will transform the landscape of the local community forever.

With the existence of these projects happening now and into the future, the Redlands Coast Chamber of Commerce is committed to creating a bright future ahead for Redland City and advocating to ensure this pipeline creates a prosperous and sustainable future for the region, that includes new employment opportunities, whilst also preserving the region’s great quality of life. And we know it can be done. With man-made harbours like Raby Bay, where new housing and infrastructure exists alongside a wonderful natural habitat, together creating a world-class community experience.

The Redlands Coast Chamber of Commerce is currently experiencing unprecedented growth and fast becoming seen as an influential voice and leader for the local business community. The profile of the chamber has lifted over the past two years and has become a driver of large, complex community-wide initiatives alongside all levels of government, industry and the wider business community.

The key driver for this success has been the introduction of a sub-committee focused on sustainable economic development for the region: Champion Redlands Coast. This partnership brings together industry, government and community stakeholders under a common banner and a shared vision. Many of the region’s leading businesses are already on board, representing manufacturing, construction, education, health care, infrastructure, transport and more.

Champion Redlands Coast leads with evidence-based advocacy, messaging that contributes to a positive community spirit and culture, and a collaborative approach to working with industry partners and all levels of government.

This collaboration is an exciting investment for our area, demonstrating how new development can be responsible, sustainable and meet the aspirations and needs of the community. The partners and active stakeholders of the Champion Redlands Coast subcommittee and working group initiatives are already highly invested in the community and integral to the region’s offering. Their advocacy is powerful in helping attract new and innovative businesses and opportunities to the region, but also encouraging the local community to embrace change.
