A Christmas trail filled with free family-friendly activities and events is set to weave its way through Redlands Coast from late November, spreading festive cheer far and wide.

Mayor Jos Mitchell encouraged people of all ages to join in the fun, starting with the traditional Redlands Coast Lighting of the Christmas Tree event on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 November at Raby Bay Harbour Park, Cleveland.

“This Redlands Coast festive favourite will feature everything from lighting displays and roving performers to food trucks, Santa photos, carols and market stalls – transforming this already special venue into a Christmas wonderland,” the Mayor said.

“It also marks the return of free family-friendly festive flicks under the stars, with a showing of How the Grinch Stole Christmas on the Friday night followed by The Santa Clause on Saturday.

“I’m also very pleased to share that festive flicks will then move across to the Southern Moreton Bay Islands on Friday 5 December, with a screening of Elliot the Littlest Reindeer at Russell Island Sport and Recreation Park from 4pm.”

In a new addition to this year’s program, a free carousel ride – in partnership with Raby Bay Harbour – will also be available at Raby Bay Harbour Park from Friday 28 November to Thursday 4 December, operating from 4pm– 9pm on weekdays and 9am–9pm on weekends.

Other attractions on the city-wide trail include nightly lighting displays across five Redlands Coast locations, an augmented reality coastal Santa at the Cleveland lighthouse, and a range of Christmas-themed events occurring across Council’s network of venues.

The lighting installations will be available at the following locations:

  • Raby Bay Harbour Park
  • Wellington Point Village Green
  • Cleveland Point
  • Redland Youth Plaza (Capalaba Skate Park)
  • Stradbroke Street, Redland Bay

The Mayor said Redlands Coast Visitor Information Centre at 50 Middle Street, Cleveland was set to be the city’s central Christmas hub once again in 2025.

“The venue will come alive with festive cheer from 9am to 4pm every day between 28 November and Christmas eve,” the Mayor said.

“Stop in to meet the team, grab a copy of the Christmas on Redlands Coast program, enter the Christmas colouring competition, or visit the Christmas phone booth to tell Santa what you’d like for Christmas.”
