REDLAND City Council is calling on residents to help shape a new Community Safety Action Plan by participating in workshops or completing a short online survey.

Mayor Jos Mitchell said the engagement activities would ensure the plan reflects the views and needs of the local community.

“The action plan is an important document that, once finalised, will guide Council’s actions and role in enhancing the safety and wellbeing of our residents,” Cr Mitchell said.

“As part of the engagement process for this project, Council is inviting the community to share their thoughts in an online survey or participate in an in-person community workshop in May.

“We recognise that everyone’s experience is different and are calling on people from a range of age groups and different parts of the city to have their say during the consultation process.”

The questions in the survey are designed to be answered in 5-10 minutes and ask people to reflect on their perceptions of community safety, such as their top three safety concerns and what they see as the priorities for Council improvements.

Council is also working closely with the Queensland Police Service, community leaders and local groups as part of the planning process.

The data and insights we receive from the engagement activities will help identify the areas of greatest need.

The Community Safety Action Plan is a key initiative identified in the Redlands Coast Stronger Communities Strategy, adopted in 2024.

Residents can complete the survey by visiting the Redland City Council Your Say page at: yoursay.redland.qld.gov.au/
