WITH stunning coastal views, friendly service and food that rivals the mainland’s best pubs, it’s no wonder visitors are raving about Club Macleay.

“Lovely location, best sunset views on the islands,” wrote local guide Joe Viveiros.

It’s a sentiment echoed by dozens of visitors who have discovered this laid-back dining spot on Macleay Island, just a short ferry ride from Redland Bay.

“Beautiful place to dine, lunch and dinner. I love bringing my friends and family here and they fall in love with the place too,” said Star Pai, who praised the friendly bar staff, fun trivia nights and “amazing” kitchen team.

Inside, the casual bistro serves up hearty, well-priced meals from lunch through dinner seven days a week.

The menu blends club classics with a few island-inspired twists – from fresh seafood and schnitzels to burgers, pizzas and rotating specials that keep regulars coming back for more.

“This little gem of a place with stunning coastal views to the mainland has it all – the food is honestly better than any pub grub I’ve had on the mainland,” said Leanne Yeomans.

“The staff are amazing and friendly, as are the patrons. Loving this slice of paradise!”

Visitors consistently highlight the warm hospitality and great value.

“Thank you so much for a lovely visit to Macleay Island & the Bowls Club. Free shuttle from the ferry was a bonus.

Great customer service. The atmosphere is great, and the club is very clean,” Kerry Bell wrote.

Others can’t get enough of the unbeatable views.

Sharni Tomkins called it “the bowls club with the best view in Queensland”, while Daniel Hughes described it as “absolutely breathtaking”.

Even first-time visitors leave impressed.

“What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon – from the moment you jump on the courtesy bus to your first beer with the best view in Queensland, with the most hospitable staff and restaurant-quality food. Thank you for a day to remember,” Jayson said.

The ferry from Redland Bay’s Weinam Creek Marina takes just minutes, and the club’s courtesy bus offers convenient transfers.

Whether it’s for lunch, dinner, or simply a sunset drink overlooking the water, Club Macleay is the perfect excuse to hop on the ferry and discover this island gem.
