The Redland Community Centre has partnered with 4 Voices to host the event on Tuesday, January 21, from 9-11 am.

4 Voices supports women and children facing challenges such as social isolation, homelessness and domestic violence.

The event will offer a range of digital and practical support services, including free wi-fi and tech assistance, help navigating local resources for housing and legal aid, and a safe space for support and connection through conversations and advice.

Redland Community Centre general manager Ronan Wicks explained the partnership was driven by the growing need to support women struggling with online services and complex government systems.

“At the Redland Community Centre, we often encounter clients who require this type of assistance, but due to limited staffing resources, we haven’t been able to fully meet the demand,” Mr Wicks said.

“Partnering with 4 Voices allows us to bridge that gap and deliver meaningful support where it’s needed most.”

Mr Wicks said the concept of the mobile support hub arose from 4 Voices’ ability to meet people in their own environments.

“By collaborating with community hubs like ours, they can provide direct, on-the-ground assistance to individuals who may otherwise struggle to access support,” he said.

“The mobile nature of their service ensures they can connect with people in a more personal and accessible way, addressing their immediate needs effectively.”

Mr Wicks anticipates that the pop-up will have a significant impact on reducing stress for those in crisis.

“For women and children, especially, navigating systems like MyGov or applying for services can feel overwhelming,” he said.

“Our hope is that 4Voices can become a recurring social pop-up hub for the Redlands, creating a sustainable support system for those who need it most.”

This initiative supports the Redland Community Centre’s broader mission of offering accessible assistance to vulnerable community members.

“By partnering with 4 Voices, we’re extending our ability to help people overcome barriers to essential services, fostering resilience and improving quality of life for those we serve,” Wicks said.

The event will be held at the Redland Community Centre, 29 Loraine St, Capalaba, on Tuesday, January 21, from 9-11am.
