A Capalaba vehicle theft has been linked to a major Southeast Queensland property crime investigation that has resulted in a man being charged with 77 offences.
Police allege a blue Mitsubishi Pajero stolen from Redland Bay Road in Capalaba on January 28 was among vehicles connected to the crime spree stretching across multiple policing districts.
Investigators from the Bayside Property Crime Team, assisted by the South Brisbane District Intelligence Unit, allege the offences occurred between January 16 and March 1 across Brisbane’s south, Logan, Ipswich and Toowoomba regions.
A 45-year-old man was arrested on March 6 on Glendon Street in North Booval, where police seized the allegedly stolen Pajero, which was fitted with false number plates.
The following day, officers executed a search warrant at a Kholo Road property in Kholo with assistance from the Ipswich Tactical Crime Squad and Goodna police.
Police allege the search uncovered a large haul of stolen property including:
• A grey Mitsubishi Pajero allegedly stolen from Wondall Road, Tingalpa on July 28, 2025
• Two box trailers
• A blue Toyota LandCruiser utility
• A Caterpillar excavator allegedly stolen from Bukulla Street, Wacol on June 21, 2024
• A shipping container filled with tools and vehicle parts
The man has been charged with:
• 36 counts of stealing
• 20 counts of entering premises and committing an indictable offence
• 15 counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle
• Two counts of entering premises with intent to commit an indictable offence
• One count each of attempted enter premises with intent, wilful damage, dangerous operation of a vehicle, and evasion
He first appeared before Ipswich Magistrates Court on March 7, where he was remanded in custody.
The man is due to appear before Toowoomba Magistrates Court on April 13.
Police say investigations remain ongoing.
