SHELDON College is set to deliver a rare musical experience to the Bayside, hosting the internationally acclaimed British Lions Male Choir for a stirring, not-to-be-missed concert at the Sheldon Event Centre on Saturday, July 20.

The free community concert marks a cultural celebration of the 2025 British & Irish Lions Rugby Tour, which will see the famous touring side visit Australia for the first time in over a decade.

As the official choir of the Lions, the British Lions Male Choir brings with it a rich legacy of song, passion, and international friendship that has become synonymous with the touring team’s global reputation.

Established in 2001, the choir draws its members from across England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, bringing together experienced singers who are united by a love of music and rugby.

Known for powerful harmonies and uplifting performances, the British Lions Male Choir has performed at prestigious venues across the UK and overseas, including the Royal Albert Hall and Principality Stadium, and has shared the stage with Welsh icons like Katherine Jenkins and Bryn Terfel.

The choir’s repertoire spans genres and generations – from stirring traditional hymns and operatic favourites to modern classics and songs from musical theatre.

The Sheldon concert will be one of only a few public performances in Australia during the choir’s tour, offering Bayside residents a rare opportunity to experience the magic and energy of this internationally celebrated ensemble.

Adding to the sense of occasion, talented vocalists from Sheldon College’s award-winning Performing Arts program will also take to the stage, performing alongside the visiting choir in a memorable showcase of intergenerational musical collaboration.

Sheldon College has built a strong reputation for nurturing artistic talent, and this event reflects its ongoing commitment to community engagement through culture and the arts.

The concert will run from 3-5pm, with guests invited to arrive from 2.30pm to enjoy a bar and light menu before the performance.

While tickets are free, bookings are essential and can be made online via TryBooking.
